About the event
One of the oldest professions in the civilized world is the collection and preparation of wild plants for use as medicine, special foods, or home remedies. Ancient as this skill is, it is far from outdated. The best way to obtain this knowledge is by going out in nature with the herbs.
Join us for a very special seasonal plant walk & in-depth discussion of some traditional wild medicinals of Michigan. Herbalist Angie Pietraszewski will lead participants around the Lavender & Honey Farm in Manitou Beach to explore the medicinal virtues, identification, and preparation of many of the common "weeds" and plants we pass by every day.
Angie will also go over how to incorporate what you learn into usable skills to maintain and restore health. As fall prepares us for winter, so does the medicine found in the natural world. Possible Plant Studies: Burdock, Yellow Dock, Goldenrod, Mullein, Comfrey, Sage, and Pine.
Includes the herb walk, extensive handouts, and a boxed lunch from Nourish Juicery & Kitchen.
